U.S. Federal Court of Appeals, Courtrooms 203 & 201
EGI was the prime contractor on this design/bid/build and design/build construction project for the complete renovation and historic restoration of Courtroom 203 and the audio/visual systems in Courtroom 201. This fast-track project was performed for the GSA and took place in an occupied courthouse and office building. EGI effectively managed many challenging conditions associated with this project. All work in this highly secure facility was closely monitored, and all onsite personnel required security clearances.
NIH BSL-2 BioLab Renovation
EGI was the prime contractor on this design/build project to renovate and relocate a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Lab. EGI managed and constructed this complex project to renovate an existing bio-lab and to build a new Tissue Culture Lab within the existing lab. The project consisted of reconfiguring existing space, MEP, millwork, casework, and architectural finishes. The scope also included the installation of highly sensitive laboratory equipment including refrigerators, incubators, exhaust hoods, and emergency decontamination stations. Due to the nature of the project, it was critical that EGI effectively managed design coordination, submittal, and review to keep the project on schedule and ensure that the finished project was BSL-2 compliant.
Naval Research Lab
EGI HSU, JV, LLC was the prime contractor on this highly complex project to replace an aging, steam-driven Reverse Osmosis Deionizer in the Chemistry Division at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. This design/build project required management and coordination of two separate engineering firms. In addition to engineering and design, the scope of work included demolition and removal of the old deionizer; installation of the new unit, and integration into existing electrical and piping systems.
